How did another year already fly by? Another year older, another year married and another year in our home! 2018 brought many house projects, exciting new jobs and all the dogs! Over 40 pups have visited "The Canine Cottage" in 2018 and we've been so blessed with the best clients and pups out there. It's been a complete joy getting to know so many amazing people and their adorable doggos! Here's a little recap of fun at the cottage last year.
Jacob started the year off right by taking down a wall for more room (for dogs) and he installs waterproof vinyl (also for the dogs)! My life is forever changed!
Sookie keeps good watch on all the house projects happening!
We have a full house in February and try to stay warm in the bitter cold. All the young pups wrestle like maniacs and the old pups get tired just watching.
February brought scary times as we thought we might lose our Oscar! He slipped a disc in his spine and lost mobility in his back legs and control of his bladder.
I can remember each vet visit and the terrifying fear of losing my best friend. We rushed him to the University of Minnesota in a snowstorm and he had emergency surgery!
We spent many weeks sleeping in the living room and keeping him comfortable and busy. I don't think he minded the extra snuggles one bit ;)
March brings spring break and a full house! We welcome our besties and our old foster, Selah!
April brings the excitement of spring and many new friends.
Oscar is off crate rest and makes a full recovery! We celebrate accordingly.
May brings the loss of one of my best friends and supporters. Grandpa always enjoyed my dog stories and we shared kindred spirits. Not a day goes by where I don't miss him.
We take all four dogs on vacation to the north shore! We have a blast camping and hiking with our puppers.
May brings so many new faces and many PUPPIES. We enjoy the big backyard and sunny skies.
Dixie is our old foster who comes to stay- we just adore seeing her so happy!
June brings the gold guys and pup cups for all! We have many pups return and spend the summer having a blast.
Babs comes to stay for the summer and quickly becomes apart of the pack!
July brings the heat and more fun with fur-iends.
In August our puppy Grahm turns one and we party like its 1999!
Doodles win the most popular breed we watch in 2018!
Summer is over and Babs returns to her home, tears are shed!
September brings another camping trip with our pups and we have the time of our life on a private little cove with friends (and their dogs, of course).
More beautiful doggies and more fun had!
October is full of some new faces and familiar ones! We get excited for fall as the trees are so beautiful here.
October also brings all the muddy paws!
We spend November snuggling and enjoying the fireplace. We took off our first Thanksgiving this year!
December keeps us busy and we enjoy Hanukkah and the season with friends and family.
As this year comes to a close I am filled with the brim with gratitude and joy. I left my office job last year to chase my dream of doing dog sitting full time. My anxiety has gone down incredibly and while not everyday is perfect there is something perfect in every day! Dogs are my passion and providing them a safe place full of love is my priority.
It is all made possible because of YOU and I am eternally grateful to be trusted as your dog sitter! We love watching them grow, socialize with other dogs and enjoy our comfy couch.
I also want to thank my husband, Jacob who does all the early feedings and helps with everything. It takes a special man to share his home with so many pups and thank you for always believing in me and my passions.
Wishing you the happiest holiday season and I already can't wait for another great year!
